The MyView panel is one I have been aware of for quite some time. However, I never used it in the past because — like many survey panels — it had some flaws. Many of the “rewards” were just sweepstakes entries. I tend to not bother much with panels that offer sweepstakes entries as rewards for taking surveys. Surveys are time-consuming and everyone deserves a little more for their time than just a very slim chance to win a big prize!
Over the past few years, MyView has improved a lot. They claim that they listened to the suggestions of their users and began doing things differently. Here are the improvements:
- No more sweeps entries as rewards. Now they give you points for every survey you take — even if you don’t qualify to do the whole thing.
- MyView has started offering prepaid Visa cards as rewards, and these are sent to you within just a few business days after you redeem. They did have a Paypal option in the past, but apparently it took people weeks to get their money with that method. The prepaid Visa card can be sent to you virtually to spend online or you can request an actual physical card to come to you in the mail.
- In the past, the MyView points you earned wouldn’t credit to your account right away. Now they do!
I have to say that I still prefer being paid in cash rather than points. I find most points systems to be confusing and they make it difficult for you to understand exactly how much real money you are earning for your time spent — and quite possibly that’s the whole point!
However, MyView does allow you to redeem your points for the prepaid Visa, which is just like getting cash. I am pretty much OK with the panels that, while they do pay in points, let you redeem them for something that equals cash rather than just gift cards to different locations that you may or may not ever visit.
