Are you always on the lookout for legitimate survey-taking sites? Does earning extra cash and gift cards interest you? Would you like to have your opinion count as you take on issues dominating the news? Then the YouGov panel might be something of interest to you. Read our YouGov review below to learn more about it.
YouGov Review – What Exactly is YouGov?
YouGov is an international market research company that helps to track the opinions of a selected section of the population. Their tag line is: What the world thinks. And they want to know just that. What do you think? The results of these surveys help governments, business, and institutions better serve and cater to the needs of the people.
Most of the surveys you take for YouGov are not of the market research variety. You get to give your opinions on things like current events, political issues, etc.
How does it work?
When a survey matching your interests becomes available, you will receive an email with the link to the survey to take and earn points. The surveys are all anonymous and may be taken at your convenience; however, there may be a deadline for finishing it. Unlike other survey panels, you don't really screen out of surveys you attempt.
Once you begin earning points, you let them accumulate, and then you redeem them for gift cards and other prizes. Some of the surveys don’t have points to offer and instead put your name into a monthly prize drawing.
What can you redeem for?
YouGov offers a prepaid Visa debit card for a prize as well as gift cards from:
- Amazon.com
- Applebee’s
- Bed Bath & Beyond
- Best Buy
- FreshGift℠
- Gamestop
- iTunes
- Walmart
There are also movie tickets, gift certificates to restaurants, and more prizes being added all the time.
How long does it take before you can redeem?
Apparently YouGov requires that you have a minimum of 35,000 points before you can redeem. This takes most of their users quite a while to reach, sometimes up to a year. However, they are known for paying out — their users claim to have gotten their redemptions as promised once they asked for them.
Is It Free to Join YouGov?
Yes, YouGov is free to join. Just sign up with a legitimate email account and create a password to go with it. Your email will be verified by clicking on a link.
How Much Money Can You Earn With YouGov?
While you really don’t earn money at YouGov per se, there is the pre-paid Visa gift card in varying amounts. Again, the other prizes are gift cards, gift certificates, and movie tickets and these are purchased with your points earned taking surveys.
Can People Outside of the US Join YouGov?
Yes, YouGov does accept panelists from other countries. It is an international market survey company.
Does YouGov Have a Referral Program?
Yes, YouGov does have a referral program and you can earn even more points by referring a friend. It doesn’t appear that there is a limit to the number of friends that you can refer to YouGov.
