With the New Year comes resolutions for most of us, and I can bet that most people resolve to make more money! I know that's something I would like to do as well.
If you already have a primary source of income, a secondary, smaller source of income might come in handy for those little emergencies, a pizza on a night when you don't feel like cooking, or just for saving purposes.
It's always nice to know you have multiple sources here and there to rely on for cash if you need to.
14 Extra Money Ideas For the New Year
Here are some useful ways to get that extra money you need:
Rate Your Favorite Music
Slice the Pie is a website a lot of people use for gas or pizza money here and there. And, you can earn the money for doing something fun — listening to music!
Just give your honest opinion on the songs you hear, write well-thought out, short reviews, and get paid with Paypal once you have accumulated $10 into your account.
Use Rewards Sites
Rewards sites come in handy for extra cash. They offer a lot of easy ways to earn extra money and gift cards. With most of them, you can earn by taking surveys, filling out offers, doing your shopping online through them, doing short tasks, playing games, watching videos, and more.
These sites tend to be a dime a dozen, but there are a few that have been around a long time and are exceptionally good.
The ones I've listed out below are legitimate, and I have used them:
Start Up a Side Hustle
If you want to earn more than just a few dollars here and there, a side hustle that you don't necessarily do at home may be the way to go.
You can earn for doing all kinds of things for other people like pet sitting, loaning out your car, personal shopping, and much more. With some of these, you can earn $20 or more hourly and get paid every single day.
The things in the list below may be of interest to you:
- Rover – Get paid to pet sit.
- DoorDash – Get paid to deliver fast food.
- Shipt – Get paid to deliver groceries.
- WeGoLook – Get paid to “look” at things.
Take Paid Surveys
There are lots of sites you can sign up with for this, some better than others. I would recommend sticking with the ones that have been around for quite a while with good track records paying users.
My top recommendations for paid survey panels include the following. I have used and been paid by all three of these panels in the past.
Use An App That Pays
Do you have an iPhone or Android device? There is a great little app called Field Agent you can download free and get paid for doing odd jobs around your town. This might involve taking pictures of store displays at your local Walmart, verifying the hours of a certain business, or simply taking a survey.
Some people are able to earn anywhere from $50 to more than $100 extra dollars per month just for taking Field Agent assignments!
Sell Your Used Electronics
Do you have electronics you no longer want or need? If so, you can sell them to earn some quick cash. And it doesn't even matter if they are broken.
You could use a site like BuyBackWorld to list what electronics you have and get a quick quote. They accept everything from old phones, laptops, computer, tablets, and even cameras and game systems.
Once you have gotten your quote and shipped your items to BuyBackWorld (free of charge because they pay the shipping), they'll pay you the money if your items are in the condition you said they were when you got your quote.
Earn Money For Lost Pounds
If you're like many people, you're probably thinking about losing some weight as part of your New Year's resolutions. What you may not have known is that you can earn extra cash in the process!
There is a very popular weight loss betting site called Healthy Wage that makes it possible for you to bet on yourself to lose weight! Basically, you just tell them how much you want to lose, the time frame it should take you, and also how much you want to bet.
If you are successful, you'll win back what you bet plus more!
Keep in mind that none of these things equal an actual income on their own, but they'll certainly work for extra money here and there if you need it (and who doesn't?)
