I decided to make a list of several different legit paid survey sites that are open to Canada. I know it is frustrating that so many sites seem to be geared primarily toward U.S. citizens, but you'd be surprised by how many actually do accept people from Canada or actually have Canadian branches for the main site.
All of these companies listed below are reputable, and you'll never be asked to pay for signing up.
Please keep in mind that taking paid surveys is a great way to get extra money, the occasional gift card or a product to test and keep here and there. Doing this will not replace your income.
That said, it's a fun, rewarding hobby to have!
Canadian Paid Survey Panels
Ipsos I-Say
If you participate in paid surveys for Ipsos, you can earn Paypal cash, Visa debit cards, or gift cards to various retailers in exchange for your time spent. You must have at least 500 points in your account to be eligible to get a cash out.
One great thing about this panel is that if you attempt a survey and screen out before completing it, Ipsos will still give you 5 points for at least trying.

Survey Savvy
This is a panel I used quite a long time ago, buy my experience was good as I recall.
First off, Survey Savvy pays in cash, and the cash out threshold is very low. Plus, they let you redeem at any time.
Keep in ming you don't always know how much each survey will be worth — some pay well while others unfortunately do not.
Survey Savvy is also an older panel, and this means they are also pretty reputable. If you're interested in earning more for referring your friends, they do have a referral program you can participate in.

Nielsen HomeScan Panel (get a free scanner & scan your grocery barcodes)
The way you earn with Nielsen HomeScan is by recording all of your weekly purchases into a diary they give you. You have to also accurately list the prices you paid.
Then, these purchases are scanned in either by an app or a handheld transmitter. As a reward, you get to choose products you'd like from their catalog. Some of these can apparently be pretty good if the reviews I've seen are accurate.

Opinion Outpost
I've always liked Opinion Outpost because while they pay in points, these points convert straight to cash. They also have a Paypal option. And another plus is that the cash out threshold is very low.
Another plus with Opinion Outpost is that they pay fast! Some people get paid on the same day they request their funds.

Toluna Opinions
Toluna will pay you with Paypal cash or gift cards (lots to choose from), your choice.
In order to get paid, you must have at least $10 (30,000 points) in your Toluna account.
The only major downside is that it usually takes up to a few months (sometimes longer) for Toluna to send out rewards.

Tellwut
Tellwut doesn't offer a Paypal pay out option for the surveys you take. That said, you can redeem for Amazon codes or Visa debit cards (these spend the same as cash).
You must have at least $10 (4,200) points in your Tellwut account to redeem for any rewards. Most of the time, it takes a few weeks to get a reward after you've requested it.

Big Tip For Taking Online Surveys
If you want to maximize the amount of money you earn from paid surveys, sign up with as many of these panels as you can. Use a different email address just for signing up with these sites so all your survey invitations will go to just one address.
Good luck! If you're aware of more paid survey panels that accept applicants in Canada, please let us know.
