Shopkick Review – A Legit Shopping App For Free Gift Cards

Published July 23, 2014 By Leisa This post may contain affiliate links. Regardless, I only recommend sites I've researched and/or used and trust.

Shopkick review - A legit shopping app for free gift cards.Do you like to shop? Are you always on the lookout for your favorite products? Would you like earning points for gift cards to some of your favorite stores? Then downloading the Shopkick app to your iPhone or Android may be a nice little way for you to purchase some of your favorite products from your favorite stores. In this Shopkick review, we share how it works so you can decide if you'd like to use it.

Shopkick Review – What Exactly is Shopkick?

Again, Shopkick is a mobile app that you can download to your iPhone or Android to earn “kicks” or points for shopping, scanning items or even visiting your favorite stores. These kicks are redeemable for free gift cards.

The Shopkick app will organize your feed by showing you your scans, walk-ins, and products. You can also see your likes and rewards. Shopkick will show you what deals are available in some of your favorite stores such as Macy’s, Old Navy, Best Buy, JC Penney, Crate & Barrel, Sports Authority and Target among others.

Shopkick began in 2009 in the basement of 5 aspiring young people to a now thriving community of engineers, copywriters, product managers, content curators, and partnerships managers. All of them are working towards improving and perfecting the in-store mobile shopping experience.

Trailing behind Amazon, eBay and Groupon, Shopkick ranks number four in overall shopping apps.

How Does Shopkick Work?

After you've downloaded the app, just make sure you have it turned on when you head out to shop so you'll see the opportunities to earn gift cards in the various stores you visit. Then you can earn by walking into stores, scanning items in-store, purchasing certain things, or even by watching videos.

According to Shopkick, most people get enough “kicks” to earn one free gift card per week. Shopkick processes cards digitally or via email.

So How Does Shopkick Stand Out as Unique?

Shopkick is the only platform with direct consumer engagement for both home and in-store. This insures that the shopping experience does not just end with the store. Shopkick also has a database of stores, so shoppers don’t have to download several apps from several different stores to be able to earn points.

While there are many other apps for cashback shopping, Shopkick is definitely one of the most reputable and highly-rated that you'll find.

What Are The Shopkick Reviews So Far?

The app currently has a very high 4.7 rating on the App store. Google Play also has a fairly high rating of 4.3. There are many people who claim to have been using the app for a few years now and feel it is reliable. There are some complaints about the app being buggy and accounts getting suspended for no apparent reason, but it looks like support tends to get back to the people who reach out about these issues, so that's a good thing.

Does This Shopkick Review Have You Wanting To Get Started?

Go here to get the app. You will be sent the link to download based on whether you are using an Android or an iPhone.  Follow the instructions for creating an account with a login, password, and email.

Once the email is verified and you have supplied all of the necessary account information, you may start shopping, scanning, and visiting your favorite stores to start earning your kicks to redeem for your gift cards.
