Are you pinching pennies to feed your family? Do you loyal to certain food and household brands? Are you excited by apps that help you earn cash back? Then signing up on Checkout 51 may be a nice side egg for you. Learn more about how it works in our Checkout51 review below.
Checkout51 Review – What Is It?
Founded in Toronto, Canada by three entrepreneurs with experience in technology, media, and advertising, Checkout 51 continues to grow in staff and brand name products. Similar to another app, Ibotta, Checkout 51 is also web-based. United States, the District of Columbia, overseas US military bases, and Canada (excluding Quebec) may all participate in this.
How Does Checkout51 Work?
Every Thursday morning, new product offers are posted. Here is what you do:
- Browse the offers for what you want to buy.
- Purchase the offers from any of your favorite stores.
- Upload your receipt using Checkout 51 and their photo taking tips.
- Your receipt will be confirmed.
- Your account will be credited.
- Once your account reaches $20 you will receive payment via check.
Even though the directions are fairly easy to follow and remember, a few things to keep in mind are:
- The receipt must be in English.
- Only one receipt per person.
- The same receipt may only be uploaded once.
- The product must be the EXACT product in the offer.
While you are allowed to shop at any store to get the product, it must be the exact product. In other words, if the offer was for SnackWell cookies 3.9 oz. or higher and you only bought a 2.4 oz. box then you would not get credit for it.
How Does Checkout51 Help Businesses?
Stores are always looking for good customers and brand loyalty, and Checkout 51 can help build both. Checkout 51 also partners with food packaging companies and product brand companies to help them with building awareness of their products.
How Does Checkout51 Pay and When is Payday?
Checkout 51 basically pays every time that you reach $20 in cash backs. They pay by check.
It does not appear that they have incorporated PayPal yet, but I think that may change in the near future.
What Do I Think of Checkout51?
I think it looks like a great app to use. I have experimented with Ibotta, but not Checkout 51. The photo taking guides as well as the Help Desk really adds to the integrity and credibility of this app.
What Do Others Think of Checkout51?
Well, others seem to sing its praises. It is not a scam and fun to use. A few users did complain that occasionally the receipt does not always upload completely, but other than that many good reviews if you want to Google them.
Checkout 51 also has a presence on Facebook and Twitter. This is always reassuring when you're considering trying something new. If the company is active on Facebook with plenty of followers, you know they are running a real business.
How Can I Download Checkout51 and Get Started?
If this Checkout51 review has you intrigued, you can go to their website and decide between signing up on your laptop or Android or iOS device. Just make certain that your iOS is at least 6.0 or higher. It goes without saying that before you can create your account–if you haven’t done so already– you will need to download either Google Play for Android or iTunes for the iPhone’s download.
Again because Checkout 51 is also web-based, you can sign up with your email account or Facebook account. Either one will need to be verified once before you complete your account.
Are You Looking For Similar Apps?
If you want to use Checkout 51 and really maximize your earnings when shopping, we'd also recommend trying out Ibotta (mentioned above). You can read our Ibotta review here to learn more about how it works. It's a little more popular than Checkout 51, but it is limited to just the US as of now.
Another good app similar to Checkout 51 is Saving Star. This one focuses mostly on your grocery store loyalty cards (connecting these to your account and earning when you use them. Feel free to read our Saving Star review as well before you sign up for that.
Good luck and go shopping! If you have experience using the Checkout 51 app, please comment below and tell us all about it! We'd love to hear how it worked out for you (good or bad).
