The MyPoints rewards program has been around for a long time! A lot of people are faithful, regular users who swear by it and claim it's a great way to get a little extra for spending some time on the site regularly. In this MyPoints review, you'll learn how the site sends out free gift cards for the shopping you were probably going to do anyway.
MyPoints review – What can you earn on MyPoints?
MyPoints pays you in points that are redeemable for Paypal cash or gift cards.
If you opt for gift card payment, you can choose from Amazon or 75 other retailers that you've probably heard of.
What do you have to do to get the points?
You earn points at MyPoints primarily through online shopping. Basically, you go to their site, find the store you want to do your online shopping from, click them, and shop as you normally would. MyPoints will then credit you a percentage of what you spend.
MyPoints won't have every store you'd want to shop at listed, but there are 1,900 of them to choose from. So there's a good chance that, more often than not, they'll have the store you want to shop at listed.
In addition to online shopping, it's also possible to earn by taking surveys, watching videos, playing games, reading emails, and other little tasks. This is pretty much like any other rewards site you've used before.
How long does it take to get paid by MyPoints?
If you are requesting Paypal payment from MyPoints, you'll need at least 3,970 points in your account. This is the equivalent of $25. Then, you will have to wait 4-5 business days for the funds to transfer to you from Paypal.
For gift cards, you don't need as many points. It only takes 700 points (the equivalent of $5) to redeem for any gift cards they have available. Sometimes you'll get your gift card within three days if you've requested it sent to you via email. But if you've requested it sent by mail, it might take two weeks to receive.
How long has MyPoints been around?
They are one of the oldest reward sites on the web, having been around since 1996.
I remember signing up a long time ago, but I stopped using it because they sent too many emails. However, it's possible that in that time things have changed. And I have since discovered how easy it is to opt out of emails you don't want simply by editing your notification settings within certain sites I'm a member of.
Is MyPoints Worth It?
Like most of these sites, you'll find both good and bad reviews.
Of the positives, I've seen that many people like the variety of things available to work on for earning money, the fact they offer Paypal payments in addition to gift cards, and the overal ease of use of the site.
But on the downside, I see a lot of complaints about their customer service. So if you have an issue — like your points not getting credited or missing a payment — you may not get a timely response, or any response at all.
